Position Summary: Develops, plans, and manages all activities of the office of strategic training and academic affairs and the international scholarship training program. Functions in a Leadership capacity in the program. This could involve managing paperwork, invoicing for scholarships, and distributing funds to schools. It may also involve recruiting residents and onboarding them.

Position Key Accountabilities: 1. Help create strong, collaborative, reputable training programs within UTHealth schools.
2. Oversees the training and consulting program activities at UTHealth Schools. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures.
3. Manage/maintain annual budget, negotiate service contracts, report on progress, and authorize expenditures.
4. Assist with the execution and negotiation of MOU/Program Agreement, streamlines activities and budget, tracks progress, maintains records, provides reports, and communicates effectively with sponsoring organizations of special consulting projects and training programs such as the International Scholarship Training Program.
5. Works closely with internal programs/departments to onboard trainees, invoice the international scholarship organizations, collect and transfer revenue, and create annual budget projections.
6. Serves as a liaison within UTHealth Schools and between UTHealth and sponsoring organizations to solve various issues related to trainees, faculty, and scholars and maintain strong relationships within UTHealth and between partner institutions.
7. Working in conjunction with Academic Affairs, help create and edit various communications materials for the department/program, which may include printed materials, website content, and newsletters.
8. Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.
9. Manage Human Resources activities for direct reports regarding recruitment and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: A bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in an academic setting can be used in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of applicable experience.
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive: This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. A foreign adversary is a nation listed in 15 C.F.R. §791.4.
Residency Requirement: Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
