We are hiring a Program Manager (casual) to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Austin, Tx. In this role, you will develop, plan, and manage all activities, administrative operations, and meeting support of a large clinical collaborative initiative at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Austin. Working knowledge of university financial systems and standard office software is highly preferred.

Position Summary:

Develops, plans and manages all activities, administrative operations and meeting support of a large clinical collaborative initiative at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in Austin. Functions in an administrative leadership capacity in the program.

Position Key Accountabilities:
  • Oversees all aspects of the program administrative activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress related to logistical and administrative processing related to program events and activities. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures for events, meetings, and activities.
  • Manages and maintains activity budgets and expenditures; reports on progress and/or authorizes expenditures. Ensures accuracy of these transactions.
  • Provides support for travel, purchasing, contracts/consultants, and supplies and materials for the program.
  • Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.
  • Regularly maintains confidential or sensitive information.
  • Works closely with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.
  • May assist in the preparation of progress reports to funding agency.
  • Interacts with representatives from state agency regarding the funded project.
  • Communicates with program partners and professionals and supports quarterly meetings and/or events.
  • Provides human resource support with training and development of new team members.
  • Travel may be required within Texas to attend events and provide on-site support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Certifications specific to the program required

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years of applicable experience required

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
