McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics is shaping the future of patient care, disease prevention, and biomedical discovery by transforming data into innovative solutions powered by artificial intelligence, data science, and informatics. We are the only biomedical informatics program with advanced doctoral degrees in Texas and the largest and only free-standing informatics school in the nation.Among other duties, the position would:
- Develop and validate deep‑learning models for medical images (CT/MRI/PET): segmentation, detection, prognostic/risk models
- Explore multimodal fusion of imaging with EHR/clinical notes, labs, and ‑omics; design interpretable models with calibrated uncertainty.
- Maintain experiment hygiene: Git/Docker, unit tests, experiment tracking (MLflow/W& B), data versioning (DVC).
- Collaborate closely with clinicians; help design IRB protocols, prospective validations, and real‑world deployment.
- Write and submit manuscripts and assist with grants; mentor students.

Position Summary: A biomedical postdoc position provides an opportunity for early-career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.

Minimum Education: Doctoral/Terminal Degree
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
