The UTHealth Department of Internal Medicine - Medical Genetics is seeking a full‑time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our innovative and highly collaborative research team. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for early‑career scientists to expand their expertise, develop independent research skills, and contribute meaningfully to advancing the field of medical genetics. The Fellow will play a key role in supporting the MAC project, including extracting and entering clinical data into REDCap, maintaining and organizing the MAC database, coordinating with partnering institutions to ensure ethical and efficient research practices, assisting in the development of new clinical research protocols, collecting data for future publications, and engaging directly with patients to expand the MAC database and promote awareness of heritable thoracic aortic diseases (HTAD).Once you join us you won't want to leave. Position Key Accountabilities: - Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results.
- Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.
- Reads and evaluates literature.
- Possess interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: Physical Requirements: - Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement: - Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
