Join the team at our Behavioral Sciences campus supporting the UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center as an Inventory Clerk. This role is responsible for maintaining and managing a complex inventory system that supports critical hospital operations. Working a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, you will coordinate inventory processes, track and manage equipment and supplies, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by receiving and issuing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with annual physical inventory. You will also collaborate with internal teams to manage storage, surplus, and equipment lifecycle activities, ensuring the right resources are available to support patient care.

Position Summary: Maintains a complex inventory system at the UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center.
Position Key Accountabilities: - Coordinates and participates in the annual physical inventory.
- Manages surplus and storage areas of the inventory section.
- Solves routine problems concerning the location of property in storage and inventory discrepancies.
- Prepares inventory data for entry into the computer.
- Reviews and date-stamps purchase orders.
- Receives and issues property items.
- Assigns property numbers to the equipment.
- Affixes inventory tags to new equipment and sensitive items.
- Disposes of obsolete items.
- Adheres to regulatory requirements regarding materials used in a hospital setting.
- Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

- Driver License (DL) by State of Texas required
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum Experience: 2 years of related experience required
Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
