Faculty (Open Rank), Headache - Neurology, McGovern Medical School

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Department of Neurology, is seeking full-time, fellowship-trained Headache Neurologists at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank to participate in clinical outpatient care and educational programs, and aid in developing a comprehensive multidisciplinary headache program.

Located in the Texas Medical Center in the heart of Houston, this position is affiliated with McGovern Medical School, the 11th-largest medical school in the nation. We are seeking candidates who have a strong interest in headache and clinical care. The successful candidate should have completed a headache fellowship and be board-certified by the ABPN for adult or child Neurology. Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.

Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient clinical care for the assessment and management of patients with headaches. This is an outpatient-only position, with no inpatient responsibilities. Support, including protected time, will be provided to develop a Headache Fellowship program. With anticipated program growth, additional clinical staff support is anticipated. As an academic center, research and teaching are integral to our mission, and we welcome candidates interested in exploring clinical trials, grant applications, or teaching opportunities with medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
• Graduate of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency
• Completed headache fellowship
• Board Eligible or Board Certified by the ABPN with fellowship training or equivalent experience working in Headache Medicine
• Active board certifications
• Texas medical license (or eligible to be licensed)
• Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
