Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, is seeking a distinguished
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as the
Endowed Chair in Child Psychiatry. This is a full-time, tenured faculty position offering a unique opportunity to lead and expand innovative clinical, research, and educational programs in child and adolescent mental health. We are especially interested in candidates with a
strong track record of NIH-funded research, both current and past, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the field through interdisciplinary collaboration and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities - Provide visionary leadership for child and adolescent psychiatry programs
- Maintain an active, externally funded research program
- Mentor junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and trainees
- Collaborate across departments and institutions to foster integrated care and research
- Contribute to clinical services and academic teaching
Qualifications - MD or equivalent with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
- Proven history of NIH funding (current and previous)
- Academic credentials commensurate with appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor
- Demonstrated leadership in clinical, research, and/or educational initiatives
