Our faculty is dedicated to promoting excellence in all areas of pediatric surgery. The UT Pediatric Surgical team partners with the Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital, Women's Hospital of Texas, HCA Houston Healthcare, and the Children's Cancer Hospital MD Anderson Cancer Center . We offer emergency and continued care for pediatric trauma patients from our level 1 trauma facility based at CMHH. Our UT surgical team collaborates closely with care teams across specialties to deliver timely, coordinated, and compassionate care for children and their families.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery, Division of Pediatric Urology, University of Texas McGovern Medical School, Houston, is seeking a full-time Board-Certified, pediatric fellowship-trained Urologic Surgeon.
Position Key Accountabilities: - Participating in developing a basic science and/or clinical research program will be a key responsibility, and fostering the academic program, including training medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participating actively in the education and training of urology residents and medical students from UT Health.
- Participation in daily clinical activities, including operating room, consultation, fetal therapy interdisciplinary meetings, and multidisciplinary and specialty clinics (Spina Bifida, Bladder Clinic, Bowel Clinic), which will provide a diverse exposure to all areas of pediatric urology.

- Providing coaching, mentoring, support, and consultation to attending physicians, advanced care providers, nursing teams, clinical managers, research personnel, fellows, residents, and various clinical staff.
- Serving as role model in professional behavior and leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and people skills
- Delegating authority and accountability to advanced care providers and nursing staff for patient care decisions that are consistent with professional standards, regulatory agencies, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Identifying patient and family needs of the populations served; recommending and/or developing innovative programs and services to meet those needs; assuring that age-specific equipment, supplies, and educational resources are available for assigned units/services.
- Maintaining an ongoing departmental Quality Improvement Plan and process consistent with the organizational Quality Management Plan; developing and implementing unit-specific standards, policies, and procedures that guide and support the provision of care and services; continuously assessing and improving assigned departments' performance while enhancing service.
- Participating in and/or chairing committees, work groups, and meetings as appropriate

Qualifications: - Fellowship trainee experience.
- Ability to lead programmatic development in an area of specialized expertise. Preferred expertise areas in transitional care and prenatal urology.
- Experience in all aspects of pediatric urology, including genital reconstruction, urinary tract reconstruction, fetal urology, and voiding disorders of childhood.
