McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, Associate Professor that will serve as a leader in
pediatric pulmonary care, education, and research, with a focus on improving outcomes for children with respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will have completed a
Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship and possess proven leadership experience, including involvement in fellowship programs or equivalent academic roles.
Position Key Accountabilities: Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical care to children with pulmonary disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform and supervise procedures such as bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Provide oversight and leadership of the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program.
- Lead or collaborate on clinical and translational research projects.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care teams, including NICU and PICU.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic program planning.
- Engage in community outreach and advocacy for pediatric respiratory health.
Qualifications: - MD or DO degree (or international equivalent).
- Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of employment.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.
- Experience in directing or co-directing fellowship programs in pediatric subspecialties.

- Background in Rare Lung diseases, Sleep Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis care, or Home Ventilation programs.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and grant funding.
- Involvement in training programs, curriculum design, and academic mentorship.

- Interest in developing new clinical programs or expanding existing services.
