McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, Associate Professor that will serve as a leader in pediatric pulmonary care, education, and research, with a focus on improving outcomes for children with respiratory conditions. The ideal candidate will have completed a Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship and possess proven leadership experience, including involvement in fellowship programs or equivalent academic roles.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive clinical care to children with pulmonary disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform and supervise procedures such as bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Provide oversight and leadership of the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program.
• Lead or collaborate on clinical and translational research projects.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care teams, including NICU and PICU.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic program planning.
• Engage in community outreach and advocacy for pediatric respiratory health.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree (or international equivalent).
• Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of employment.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity.
• Experience in directing or co-directing fellowship programs in pediatric subspecialties.

Preferred Attributes

• • Background in Rare Lung diseases, Sleep Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis care, or Home Ventilation programs.
