McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, 1.0 FTE, non-tenure clinical track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Family & Community Medicine .

The selected candidate will contribute to the department's mission to provide health care to an urban underserved population and train the next generation of physicians. The candidate will assume a dual appointment in the Department of Orthopedics.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Providing direct patient care in outpatient settings and other activities may include supervision of medical students and residents in clinics and hospitals.
• Participating in the education and training of medical students and residents
• Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes, including excellent risk-adjusted outcomes.
• Being involved in Primary Care and Sports Medicine practice
• Participating in Game/Event Coverages at various levels, depending on the strategy of UTHealth Houston
• Following ultrasound-guided procedures: diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries clinically and/or with ultrasound use and possible injections, hydrodissection, etc.

Qualifications:

• M.D., D.O.
• Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
