Description:

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time 1.0 FTE, non-tenure clinical-track faculty position in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Division of Gynecologic Oncology .

The selected candidate will contribute to the department's mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UTHealth Houston provides comprehensive specialized care for women diagnosed with gynecologic malignancies, including cervical, uterine, ovarian, vulvar, vaginal, gestational trophoblastic disease, and other reproductive organ cancers.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct research, teaching, clinical service, administrative, and other activities, i.e., provide direct patient care and supervision of medical students and residents in clinic and hospital settings.
  • Provide high-quality, personalized medical care to women diagnosed with or suspected of having a gynecologic malignancy, in a well-coordinated, multidisciplinary fashion, to improve, enhance, and sustain quality of life:
    • Disseminate knowledge through education of current and future women's health care providers and general practitioners on various aspects of reproductive organ cancers.
    • Advance medical knowledge through contributions in biomedical research in the areas of prevention, screening, and treatment.
    • Collaborate with physician colleagues and local leaders to promote good health for our community.


Qualifications:

The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.

Qualified applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery, and service, have the potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise, and share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Preferred applicants must have completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency and Gynecologic Fellowship and demonstrate knowledge and skills, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong potential for a leadership role within the department.
