Description:
McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), clinical-track faculty position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will join a growing subspecialized pathology service that supports the clinical and academic mission of UTHealth Houston.
We are looking for a team-oriented Clinical Pathologist to join our group. Our affiliated hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, is expanding its services, providing a variety of opportunities for career growth for candidates with the ability and skills to build relationships across units and clinical teams.
Position Key Accountabilities: - Providing training for residents, fellows, and medical students, as well as development of an individual and/or collaborative research program.
- Serving as a role model in professional behavior, leadership skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborating with UTHealth, hospital administration, and physicians to identify future opportunities and define the direction of department services, and develop and implement plans to achieve identified goals.
- Maintaining professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, in-services, current literature, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in fields of expertise; supporting and promoting education and research.
Qualifications: - Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License (M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree)
- Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology
- Fellowship training in Hematopathology.
