The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is hiring a PATIENT ACCOUNTING REPRESENTATIVE in Abilene, TX. This is a full-time position.

Patient Accounting Representative About This Role Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and making a meaningful impact behind the scenes? As a Patient Accounting Representative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the support they need while helping the organization maintain accurate and timely billing. Every claim you process and every question you answer contributes to delivering exceptional patient care. What You'll Do In this role, you'll help keep the billing process running smoothly by: Processing and preparing insurance claims accurately and on time. Reviewing, monitoring, and following up on submitted insurance claims. Appealing underpaid or denied claims to maximize reimbursement. Obtaining required authorizations for patient services. Staying current on insurance billing regulations and payer requirements. Posting adjustments and payments using Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). Communicating with patients and insurance companies regarding account balances and billing questions. Collaborating with Medical Records and other departments to obtain needed documentation. Identifying potential collection issues and communicating them to leadership. Supporting teammates and assisting with departmental projects as needed.
