Job Description

Title: Operations Support Coordinator

Department: General Branch Management

General Summary:

Assists the Sales and Operations team to ensure smooth internal operations. Assists with branch internal operations and assures all departments pursue continuous improvement, positive leadership and provide quality services to our external & internal customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Works with the Regional Manager(s), Operations Manager, and Sales Manager to promote maximum branch efficiencies and profitability according to the business plan.
  2. Keeps Regional Operations Manager apprised of any employee, customer, vendor, or operational concerns that may affect the welfare of the branch(es).
  3. Develops and maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction and resolves operational customer concerns.
  4. Coordinates sales and product-marketing activities as they related to Operations and Inside Sales. Assures pricing and costing accuracy and conformance with the support of the Sales and Purchasing Manager.
  5. Participates in process meetings to plan strategies and analyze pertinent information including budgeting, operations business reports, safety statistics, non-conformances, and best practices in order to improve efficiencies and maximize performance.
  6. Provide support and guidance related to special projects as and when needed.
  7. Develop and implement project management procedures and methodologies to achieve goals related to special projects.
  8. Identify and minimize investment in excess stock, nonstock, and dead stock by initiating and encouraging vendor returns, redistribution to branches, sales programs, and as a last resort, systematic disposal of obsolete material
  9. Credit and rebills, reporting (all types), releasing holds, and assisting AR and AP when necessary.
  10. Ensures incoming and outgoing inventory is processed and discrepancies resolved; oversees layout and design of inventory and storage area; manages vendor and customer returns.
  11. Analyzes transportation and distribution methods/procedures to develop and utilize the most efficient means of delivering product to customer.
  12. Supports and promotes corporate policies and procedures including EEO commitment and Affirmative Action Plan, and the Employee Handbook.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. At least four years’ industry experience with project leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  2. Must possess strong leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills.
  3. Knowledge of market, customer base, products, suppliers and distribution process preferred.
  4. Working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel and Word.

Working Conditions: Requirements are office based, with some exposure to an environmentally protected warehouse. Office hours are from 8: 00am to 5: 00pm but may require several hours outside standard business hours to accommodate meetings and projects. Travel between regional facilities will be required.
