Overview

Lead an engineering team to develop new and sustain existing pipeline inspection, repair, and/or integrity assessment systems and contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts extensive Finite Element Analysis as requested by various constituencies throughout TDW.
  • Maintains, shares and develops a thorough knowledge of FEA tool capabilities.
  • Frequently assists/interacts with other Engineering disciplines and departments and project managers, as assigned, to further tool and/or process development. Provides technical assistance to other engineering groups as needed.
  • May lead projects, as needed.
  • Produces technical deliverables (e.g., FEA analysis, engineering calculations, test reports, analysis reports, etc.).
  • Works with Project Managers and executives to plan projects and assess technical feasibility.
  • Performs design verification tests.
  • Assists with prototype or test rig assemblies.
  • Oversees validation processes for new products.
  • Writes, improves, and standardizes engineering/analysis processes.
  • Provides technical presentations and progress reports to Project Managers and Management.
  • Maintains status and schedule updates and communicates them to the Project Manager.
  • Sets up and carries out component, subassembly, and assembly verification tests.
  • Supports new products through verification and validation phases.
  • Documents and validates improvement for Production Release.


Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or similar discipline.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with engineering systems, including PLM system and engineering change processes.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with modeling & Analysis software (Primarily Ansys; Secondarily: SolidWorks, etc.).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skills in FEA / 3D modeling, engineering analysis (non-linear, CFD, etc.), problem solving tools, and mechanical design principles.
  • Intermediate skills in rare earth magnetic analysis desired using Ansys or Simcenter MAGNET.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and machining methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills.
