JOB SUMMARY:

The primary function of Senior UPS technician is to startup, maintain and repair UPS systems at customers sites and Viking Power or one of our partner's warehouses when necessary. To train junior technicians on UPS operation, maintenance, and repair. And to assist with and help with all other Stationary Power jobs Viking Power has.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Startup, Maintain and Repair all UPS systems Viking Power contracts work on from our customers
• Train junior technicians in UPS operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Project Manage jobs that you are asked to do.
• Represent Viking Power in a positive way, wearing company uniform and PPE at the correct times and in a proper manner.
• Assist in all Stationary Power jobs
• Assist in Motive Power Charger repair if needed
• Assist the Sales and Leadership teams in identifying new customers or new opportunities at existing customers
• Maintain positive working relationships with staff and company managers as well as all customers
• Actively promote safety and the enforcement of safety rules and policies, including the proper disposal of hazardous waste or scrap parts and materials
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma: 2-year tech school or military equivalent accepted, EE degree preferred
• 5-10 years' work experience in UPS or related field
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding technical issues found at customers sites and to give input and technical support assistance to junior technicians
• Proficient in MS Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
