This position supports 1st shift, Monday through Friday (standard schedule), with weekend coverage and support for other shifts as needed. What will you do?Shipping & Logistics Leadership- Ensure correct and timely shipment of all customer orders.
- Lead efforts to eliminate shipping barriers and resolve shipment‑related issues.
- Analyze and evaluate issues related to inventory accuracy, delivery delays, and sales order discrepancies; provide updates and reports to management.
- Manage and process freight claims when appropriate.
- Serve as subject matter expert for material handling strategies in alignment with the Schneider Production System (SPS).
Workflow, Planning & Productivity - Identify, update, and standardize work procedures to improve team efficiency.
- Prepare work schedules, coordinate staffing levels, and expedite workflow to meet demand.
- Issue clear written and verbal instructions to personnel.
- Examine work for accuracy, neatness, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures within the Quality Management System (QMS).
Production & Continuous Improvement - Ensure the team meets daily/weekly production and shipping commitments aligned with cost, quality, and lead‑time targets.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to improve processes within shipping, warehousing, and manufacturing.
- Identify, drive, and implement continuous improvement opportunities using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
People Leadership - Own full scope of people management responsibilities including:
- Goal setting
- Competency development
- Recognition and engagement
- Daily timekeeping
- Performance and disciplinary management
- Hiring and onboarding
- Organize and deliver training to support team skill development.
Safety & Compliance - Drive a strong safety‑first culture across the shipping and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment.
What qualifications will make you successful?- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience.
- 1+ years of supervisory experience, including performance management and coaching.
- 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, or Supply Chain.
- Strong experience with shipping processes, logistics, and material handling.
- Strong PC skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
- Experience with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working autonomously.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with production, planning, quality, and logistics.
