Description:

The Performance Manual Therapist plays a key role in supporting the health and daily physical care of players through manual therapy, utilizing clinical assessment, and evidence-informed treatment. This full-time, on-site position works closely with the medical and performance teams to help maintain player availability and function in a high-performance basketball environment.

This position requires hands-on proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to individual player needs and scheduling demands. The Performance Therapist provides foundational day-to-day care and contributes to overall athlete support systems.


What You'll Do:

  • Deliver consistent hands-on manual therapy aimed at addressing movement restrictions, recovery needs, and individual physical concerns.
  • Conduct and document clinical assessments and re-assessments to inform daily treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with performance staff such as physical therapists, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, sports scientists, doctors, dietitians, and performance psychologists to ensure alignment of care within the athlete's overall performance plan.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR/AMS systems, contributing to player tracking and communication.
  • Assist with treatment area logistics, daily scheduling, and efficient delivery of therapy services around training, games and travel.
  • Maintain professional relationships with players and staff, building trust through reliability, competence, and consistency.
  • Stay up to date with developments in manual therapy, diagnostics, and sports science to apply best practices in athlete care.


Who You Are:

  • Postgraduate training in orthopedic manual therapy required; fellowship-level certification preferred.
  • Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Texas (or eligible for licensure).
  • Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Texas is not required but preferred (or eligible for licensure).
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, ideally with exposure to elite or competitive sport populations.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Available for non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or carrying up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
