Event Security Lead

Location: San Antonio, TX / Non-Exempt

This position will provide oversight and technical expertise support for all part time event security guards and supervisors working on event days at Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field. This position will collaborate with management, other departments, and partners to address security events, risk, and provide timely incident response. This position will be responsible for security monitoring, incident response, and access control management. This position will also help oversee the training on policies, procedures, and security equipment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing security policies, procedures, and standards as aligned with SS& E values.
  • Supervises assigned guards and supervisors in accordance with policies and procedures while addressing complaints and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Establishes, cultivates, and maintains effective relationships with management, peers, outside agencies, and subordinates.
  • Ability to effectively lead a diverse team.
  • Handles the training for new guards on department equipment to include X-ray machines and their operations, magnetometers, hand wanding and proper bag search procedures.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by Security Management.


Who You Are:

  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective and efficient leadership skills requiring tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain a State Security level II non-commissioned license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions to include extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Must have knowledge and be physically able to demonstrate proficiency with all security equipment, such as walkthrough magnetometer, x-ray machines, and handheld wands.
  • Must be able to work long hours, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, overnight and holidays.
  • Must be able to work the minimum of 70% of events each month.
  • Must possess the ability to meet dress standards. As a representative of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, dress standards are highly reflective of our brand.
  • Must be able to work at both the Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field for all events assigned.


Preferred Experience:

  • 1 year of entertainment industry experience.
  • CPR Certification/ Basic First Aid preferred.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement or experience in the entertainment industry, security, military, or law enforcement preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally able to Lift and Carry 25 plus pounds.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs in an arena and outdoor stadium setting throughout the duration of the shift.
  • Constantly be able to stand and/or walk for long periods in extreme conditions for the duration of assigned shift.
