Building Security Guard I - Frost Bank Center (FT)

We are looking for a full-time Building Security Guard to join our team! Building Security Guards are experienced guards who serve just under the Security Leads of the Frost Bank Center. The person in this position must be adept at maintaining and upholding the security policies and procedures of the Frost Bank Center as well as protecting its assets, employees and guests. Building Security Guards must be proficient using Microsoft Suite and have experience with operating CCTV systems, Fire Panels, dispatching radios, and working through emergency response scenarios. The person in this position must be skilled at part time duties such as patrolling and posting at guard checkpoints but also serve as backups to Leads due to their wealth of experience in the field.

What You’ll Do:

• Regulates and controls access and entry checkpoints to restricted and secure areas. (i.e. event level, receiving dock, locker rooms, and other sensitive areas).
• Monitors, patrols, and responds to alarms and emergency situations inside and outside the Frost Bank Center and grounds. Provides quick, professional, and effective response in security and/or safety related situations.
• Serves and interacts with guests attending Frost Bank Center games and events. Provides information and directions to inquiries from the public or Frost Bank Center employees. Interacts professionally and notifies the proper authorities or personnel, as situations dictate. Provides information and directions to inquiries in a positive and friendly manner.
• Completes effective communication, both verbally and written where appropriate, in situations where reports are generated, or direction is needed. Documents critical information for incident/accident reports.
• Conducts security screening and bag searches to ensure authorized people enter the arena and no prohibited items are being brought in.
• Consistently and appropriately solve problems. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves safety concerns. Effectively generates safety awareness and training. Identifies and effectively enforces guidelines to reduce unsafe practices.

Who You Are:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the security field.
• Skilled with security access control systems, protocols, CCTV and other security related equipment.
• Skilled and understands basic security protocols and safety programs.
• Ability to obtain a Level 2 Security License and Certification required while in this position.
• Must possess good verbal and written communication and team building skills.
• Must be a self-starter, with initiative and exceptional, sound decision making skills.
• Must possess the ability to meet dress standards. As a representative of SS& E, dress standards are highly reflective of our brand.
• Skilled and familiar with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Must be willing to foster their career development by attending SS& E University.
• Must be proficient in sending and checking emails through Microsoft Outlook.

Physical Requirements

• Able to Lift and Carry 25 plus pounds as needed.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods in extreme conditions for the duration of assigned shift.
