Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to lead our Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives, with a focus on enhancing data-driven decision-making in the context of higher education. The ideal candidate will use agile methodologies to develop and improve data-centric solutions that support the university's strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions, creating insightful dashboards, and applying storytelling techniques to communicate data insights effectively to academic and administrative stakeholders.

Workplace Requirements:

Hybrid position: This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

Hiring Range: $95, 900 - $106, 488
*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

  • Bachelor's Degree

This role involves leading and executing complex analytical projects, providing strategic insights, and contributing to the overall data-driven decision-making process
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling
  • Proven leadership experience in leading complex analytical projects and managing teams
  • Expertise in advanced data visualization tools, BI platforms, statistical software, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)

  • Expertise in advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools and platforms used in higher education, such as Tableau, Power BI, and Cognos, as well as proficiency with statistical software and programming languages like Python and R

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align data insights with the university's long-term goals, contributing to the development of data-driven strategies for institutional success
