Description:

Are you a problem-solver who thrives on making complex HR processes feel simple and supportive? Do you crave a career that truly makes an impact in people’s lives? Do you thrive on problem-solving and finding solutions? Join a dedicated, tight-knit team that creates an immediate and meaningful impact every day.

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Leave Administration Case Manager who delivers concierge-level service to employees while expertly navigating the dynamic world of leave laws, policies, and accommodations. In this high-impact role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for employees from leave intake through resolution and return-to-work, supervising cases with care, insight, and strategic judgment. This is a position ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, continuous learning, and making a real difference in the employee experience.

This role is fully remote

Primary Responsibilities:

End-to-End Case Ownership & Employee Support

  • Serve as the single point of contact for employees, guiding them through the full leave lifecycle — from initial inquiry through return-to-work and follow-up support.
  • Manage a dynamic caseload, balancing efficiency with empathy while resolving complex leave and accommodation scenarios.
  • Respond to inquiries, triage cases, review documentation, and advance leave determinations in compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Regulatory & Policy Expertise

  • Apply deep, advanced, up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, USERRA) and company leave policies to case decisions and guidance.
  • Understanding of interactive process and reasonable accommodation principles under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Interpret medical documentation, evaluate eligibility, and make determinations that align with legal and organizational standards.
  • Educate employees, managers, and HR partners about leave options, timelines, and obligations with clarity and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of regulatory risk, compliance audits, and litigation exposure

Discretion & Independent Judgment

  • Exercise significant discretion in evaluating case details, adjusting case plans, and recommending accommodations based on complex information.
  • Analyze trends, recommend improvements to workflows and tools, and help define best practices in leave case management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide continually and as needed project support to leave redesign efforts as well as transition from TPA to an in-house solution model
  • Partner with line leaders, HR Business Partners, Benefits, Payroll, Legal, and third-party administrators (TPAs) to advise and support aligned, consistent, compliant outcomes for leave events.
  • Communicate regularly — verbally and in writing — with employees and stakeholders to keep them informed, supported, and empowered.

Continuous Learning & Adaptability

  • Stay current on evolving regulations, system enhancements, and internal process updates — quickly adopting new knowledge and applying it with confidence.
  • Anticipate challenges, troubleshoot barriers, and pivot effectively when regulations or business needs change.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 2 years of leave administration experience; or 1 year of leave administration experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Experience supporting leave administration, absence management, disability/accommodation case work, or related HR functions.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state leave regulations and how to apply them to real-world cases.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex requirements into clear guidance.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, analyze documentation, and make informed decisions.
  • High emotional intelligence and commitment to employee-focused service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience transitioning from third-party administrators (TPAs) to in-house leave solutions.
  • HRIS and case management system proficiency.
