Who We Are Uson, a business unit of PAC, is the premiere global provider of leak testing equipment and solutions for the medical device, automotive, electric vehicle, industrial and packaging industries. Since 1963 Uson has taken the leak testing technology we first developed for NASA and applied it to a wide range of automated industrial assembly applications.
Position Overview The Service Technician is responsible for building, calibrating, troubleshooting, upgrading, repairing, and testing Uson products in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This role requires strong technical aptitude, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities - Build, calibrate, troubleshoot, upgrade, repair, and test Uson products following procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001: 2015 standards and all applicable quality policies.
- Log, troubleshoot, document, and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and update quotations for calibration, repairs, spare parts, and modifications based on time and materials.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Uson products, standards, and best practices; participate in required training.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and aligned with production and safety standards.
- Meet or exceed internal and external KPIs, departmental goals, and company objectives.
- Complete daily documentation, including timesheets, service reports, calibration records, checklists, CRM/MRP entries, and parts usage.
- Participate in after-hours call rotation and occasional travel to customer sites as needed.
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to support continuous improvement and identify emerging product issues.
Qualifications & Requirements - High school diploma required; vocational training, trade school, or a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering Technology preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience building, servicing, or troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, electrical/electronic components, or PLC systems.
- Working knowledge of CRM and MRP systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
Physical Requirements - Ability to hear and verbally communicate with staff, customers, and others in person and by phone.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to climb stairs, kneel, or crouch to access equipment or materials as needed.
Work Environment & Travel - Work is primarily performed in a dynamic manufacturing environment with frequent interaction across teams, customers, vendors, and off-site personnel.
- Travel requirement: 5-10%, primarily for customer site visits as needed.
