Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

• Work with shift supervisor to lead department initiatives.
• Ability to communicate to opposite shifts to ensure proper shift handoffs.
• Ability to be the example to all employees.
• Ensure all crew members are prepared and ready for duty including having their proper PPE.
• Ability to enforce all company guidelines, standards, and policies including Safety & Quality.
• Ability to make quick business decisions such as adjusting/moving personnel, when to pull a die or disposition of material to meet our quality standards, and identify dies and orders needed the be completed throughout the day.
• Perform daily quality checks on metal and racks.
• Ability to perform shut down, startup, and emergency stop procedures.
• Cross trained to safely operate all equipment and cover all positions as needed.
• Train department employees to safely and accurate perform tasks to predetermined standards.
• Based on plans and company standards, assign employees to work areas to maximize goal and reduce the amount of scrape metal.
• Notify management of equipment malfunctions and other potential safety issues.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours
• Twist, bend, stoop and kneel
• Lift, push, pull and move up to 75lbs individually or 150lbs with a partner
• Grasp, squeeze, hold/handle thin to thick metal, small & large items
• Requires reaching, handling and grasping while turning of upper body while moving and lifting
• Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws and to ensure equipment is in safe working condition
• Proper wear of all required Personal Protective Equipment
• Work in temperatures consistent with outdoor climate conditions and hot machinery (Heat, humidity, etc.)

What We’re Looking For

• At least 18 years of age
• Knowledge of the extrusion processes
• Basic computer skills and use of machine HMI screen
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented environment
