Position Summary:

This position is supervised by the Director of Nursing, however on a day to day basis, the nursing assistant may be given direction by the RN/LPN on duty. Medical Assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties which, by design and intent, assists nursing staff accomplish a variety of patient related tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs administrative duties such as welcoming patients and visitors, answering department phones, assisting with discharge or transfer procedures.
• Responsible for taking patient history and preparing patient for examination.
• Assisting the physician during examinations.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed by physician.
• Responding to patient call bells timely.
• Administering medications as directed by physician.
• Instructing patients about medications and special diet needs.
• Ensuring all documentation is timely and according to established protocols.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Knowledge, Education, & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalency.

• Certified as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Previous experienced in substance abuse disorder preferred.

Employment Status: Full time

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday, 4: 30pm-12: 30am

Work Location: Manor, TX

Compensation: Pay Range: $18-22 hourly
