Your Job

As an Assembly Lead supporting the Aerospace & Defense Solutions (ADS) division within Molex, you will provide day-to-day leadership for a production assembly team, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will play a critical role in driving performance, developing team capability, and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement aligned with Principle-Based Management (PBM).

You will be part of the ADS manufacturing team, supporting production operations that deliver high-reliability interconnect solutions for aerospace and defense applications. Our team is focused on operational excellence, compliance, and delivering value to customers through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
  • Lead and support a team of production operators in assembly processes, ensuring daily production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are met
  • Serve as the first point of contact for escalation on the production floor, troubleshooting issues and coordinating support as needed (Engineering, Quality, Maintenance)
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to ensure efficient throughput and on-time delivery
  • Drive adherence to standard work, work instructions, and regulatory requirements (including aerospace/defense quality standards)
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to build capability, improve performance, and support cross-training initiatives
  • Reinforce a strong safety culture by identifying risks, addressing concerns, and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, including Lean initiatives, root cause analysis, and waste reduction activities
  • Track and communicate key performance metrics (productivity, quality, scrap, delivery) and provide regular updates to leadership
  • Assist with audits, documentation, and compliance activities as required in a regulated manufacturing environment
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within assembly operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coaching others in a team-based environment (formal or informal leadership)
  • Working knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and production documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to escalate appropriately
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills across multiple levels of the organization
  • Basic proficiency with production systems and Microsoft Office tools
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, AS9100, or similar quality systems
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Previous experience as a team lead, lead operator, or supervisor in production
  • Exposure to ERP or MES systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Strong data-driven mindset with experience using metrics to drive performance improvements
