Description:

Job Overview: This position is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. This role leads a team of network engineers and works cross-functionally with IT Security, Systems Engineering, Help Desk, and business stakeholders to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable network services across all locations.

The IT - Manager Network Engineering is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong technical depth as well as leadership, vendor management, and operational discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain enterprise network architecture (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, data center, cloud connectivity)
  • Oversee routing, switching, wireless, and internet edge infrastructure
  • Lead major initiatives (data center migrations, segmentation, performance optimization)
  • Ensure scalability and resiliency across multi-site operations
  • Ensure uptime and performance of all network services
  • Lead incident response for network-related outages
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and proactive maintenance practices
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Lead and deliver network-related projects on time and within scope
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Systems, Security, Application teams)
  • Ensure all work is tracked via formal tasking (e.g., Planner, tickets)
  • Review and approve network-related procurement (circuits, hardware, licensing)
  • Optimize contracts, renewals, and cost structures
  • Validate technical designs and pricing proposals

  • Manage relationships with network vendors, carriers, and VARs
  • Partner with IT Security to enforce network security controls (firewalls, segmentation, filtering)
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Support audits and remediation efforts
  • Other directives as assigned.


Primary Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking).
  • Strong hands-on experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and leading vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Arista.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid network environments.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices, change management, and service delivery frameworks.
