The role will be part of the Digital Americas organization and will partner closely with the LGUS Equipment Health Center (EHC). Digital Americas is a multi-disciplinary technical team comprised of data scientists, software engineers, and operations research experts that serves Linde business units by creating analytics and decision support systems for challenges across operations, supply chain, reliability, and business processes. Linde's US EHC is an emerging team of specialized professionals dedicated to utilizing digital tools and advanced monitoring systems to assess equipment condition and identify operational risks. Data sources are varied, from machine component condition parameters to process operational outputs collected directly from the machinery real-time. You will work closely with software engineers and regional reliability teams as well as experts in the fields of rotating machinery, electrical equipment and process operations to architect solutions based on business requirements-spanning data extraction, statistical/ML and optimization modeling, and delivery through scalable applications and dashboards. Key Accountabilities: - Develop and maintain existing tools and KPIs of the EHC; support implementation in the field; stay abreast of new technology (including AI/ML and generative AI) and actively contribute ideas for new programs. - Collaborate with business partners and discipline experts (rotating, electrical, process, reliability) to understand requirements, prioritize use cases, and define appropriate technical solutions. - Lead technical development of advanced diagnostics, health analytics, and decision support tools-from data discovery/ETL through modeling, validation, and deployment. - Develop scalable data and analytics applications (e.g., MS-SQL/T-SQL, historian integrations, Tableau/Power BI) and create interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate results. - Coordinate external data services and development with providers and conduct regular market research on remote monitoring and data analytics methods to continuously improve EHC efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: Basic: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field with a specialization in data science/analytics (degree must be from an accredited institution or equivalent) - 5+ years of relevant industry experience developing analytics, predictive technologies, or decision support tools - Experience formulating and solving optimization, machine learning, forecasting, and/or statistical modeling problems (e.g., regression, segmentation, survival analysis, PCA, neural networks) - Strong programming skills in Python (and/or R) and proficiency with SQL (MS/T-SQL); ability to work with databases, stored procedures, and data quality/ETL concepts - Excellent communication and data storytelling skills; ability to succinctly convey complex solutions to stakeholders and executive leadership; willingness to travel domestically as needed Preferred: - PhD degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field - Experience with industrial data sources (e.g., plant-wide historians such as GE Proficy) and/or operations and reliability use cases - Experience designing and using databases, performance tuning, and building scalable data/BI solutions (SharePoint development a plus) - Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, D3) - Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) / generative AI technologies and deploying ML/AI solutions into production.
