Job Overview: As a Black Belt Productivity Specialist, you will have the opportunity to drive change. Lead medium to large Lean Six Sigma projects of varying complexities at assigned locations and facilities within the South Region. Identify and prioritize productivity projects within the Air Separation (bulk atmospheric gases), CO2 and Standard Plants areas and within the Production, Distribution and Business Value Streams. Conduct value stream mapping of current processes, identify waste, and implement process improvements. Monitor production KPIs and identify causes of variance. This position requires a self-motivated individual who is expected to function at a high level with limited supervision. Responsible for the leadership of black belt projects and oversight of green/gray belt projects which are broad in nature, and across multiple sites. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of productivity methodology and processes. Act as a resource for the application of advanced productivity tools and discipline. Overcome resistance to change. Achieve productivity benefit goals by skillfully implementing productivity projects. Work well with and learn from stakeholders at various levels, in particular the Plant Managers and their Operation team as well as the Operations Director to align and drive initiatives. Utilize learnings and system interdependencies to improve plant KPIs, identify cost reduction/capital project opportunities, and increase plant profitability. Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Capital & Productivity Director and is primarily an individual contributor role. Will train and coach junior level productivity professionals and green/gray belts on large/complex projects and lead project teams. Primary Responsibilities: - Typical annual productivity savings target is 8 to 10 times base salary. - Specializes in Six Sigma tools and methodologies to achieve annualized project benefits goals greater than target. - Provides productivity support to assigned plants within the LGUS South Region. - Solves complex problems; takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. - Develops conclusions from analyses, applies results, and presents findings. - Continuously builds and demonstrates technical proficiency in Air Separation, Distribution and Business Process areas and can apply these skills to identify and execute productivity opportunities. - Leading the execution of small projects with the support of operations personnel - Facilitates idea generation through collaborative efforts (e.g. brainstorming, lean events, and stakeholder engagement). - Understands strategic direction of business unit and implements action plans to meet the needs of the business and key stakeholders - Establishes a strong leadership presence with project team(s). - Collaborates closely with Plant Managers and their Operations team to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure their successful implementation. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in engineering required - Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to influence required - Strong communications skills - written and verbal - Experience in applying statistical principles preferred - Experience with project scoping, cost estimating, project management desired - Must be willing to travel at least 25% - 35% - Primary office location will be the Deer Park facility with frequent travel to other South Region Production facilities Preferred Qualifications: - Green Belt training or certification preferred - ASU production and project management experience, along with demonstrated leadership skills - Experience in applying statistical principles preferred - Black Belt qualifications a plus - Bachelor's degree preferably in chemical or mechanical engineering About Linde: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2025 sales of $34 billion.
