Executive Director, Growth Reports to: President, North America Job Overview: This Executive Director, Growth position is dedicated to driving profitable growth for LGUS's~$3.5 B merchant and onsite business. The Executive Director, Growth is accountable for developing and accelerating growth initiatives across markets, customers, and applications, while enabling the regions to achieve and exceed growth expectations. This role provides enterprise leadership across business development, application engineering, national sales channels, and commercial excellence. The expectation is that LGUS will grow profitably at a pace exceeding its fair share through sharper market focus, disciplined execution, customer value creation, and scalable growth platforms. The scope of the role includes achieving best- in- class performance in: - Business Development & Applications - National and Specialized Sales Channels - Commercial Process Excellence, Analytics, and Enablement Primary Responsibilities: Business Development & Applications: Direct Accountability For: - Wooster Fabrication - Burr Ridge Food Lab - National Business Development Engineers (as aligned with the regions) - Application Engineering & Fabrication, including Project Engineering and fabrication teams - Dotted- line coordination with Food, Pharma, Water, Combustion, Heat Treating Applications Engineering, and Growth Planning teams Key Responsibilities Include: - Develop and execute new market and application growth strategies aligned to regional priorities - Streamline and scale application delivery solutions (~$60 - $90 M in signed projects annually) - Build market share through differentiated, value- added offerings - Lead teams responsible for application project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget - Improve realization of signed growth opportunities by increasing revenue realization rates to > 60% - Expand organizational capacity to deliver growth projects efficiently and consistently - Own Business Development tools, processes, and governance - Coordinate closely with Global capabilities, R& D processes, PSOs, and equipment resources Sales Enablement & National Sales Channels Enterprise Leadership and Oversight For: - National Accounts - Municipal Sales - Tank Supply - Select national and strategic customer segments Responsibilities Include: - Strengthen and standardize the sales process with a focus on digital tools, AI, automation, and analytics - Deliver actionable insights through rigorous data analytics and performance dashboards - Drive sales training and capability building that produces measurable commercial impact - Enable regions and sales teams with tools and processes that increase selling time and growth focus - Partner with senior leadership (SVP & RVPs) to define clear roles, decision rights, and delegations of authority that streamline approvals and execution Commercial Excellence & Execution: Optimize enterprise sales infrastructure, including: - CRM platforms - Pricing and quoting tools in coordination with Product Management - Value- added applications and solution tools - Dashboarding and metric visualization - Improve consistency, speed, and quality of commercial execution across regions - Ensure strong alignment between national growth initiatives and regional delivery Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required - MBA strongly preferred - 10-15 years of commercial leadership experience, including sales leadership and/or business development (Technical application experience preferred) - 10-15 years of experience within a merchant industrial gases business. Demonstrated experience scaling growth initiatives and leading cross functional teams - Process optimization experience (e.g., Six Sigma) preferred - Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and commercial operations strongly preferred - Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and analytical skills - Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel About Linde: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2025 sales of $34 billion.
