Job Purpose: This position has responsibility for directing, planning, and leading HYCO (Hydrogen & Carbon Monoxide) operations to ensure required business objectives and strategies for multiple plants and pipeline systems in the Texas Gulf Coast South Region. Job Scope: This position defines priorities, plans, and objectives for manufacturing operations for multiple plants and pipeline systems located from the Houston Ship Channel south to Freeport/Sweeny, TX. This seasoned individual has expert knowledge of principles and practices within operations, and an understanding of business strategies and culture, as well as works to achieve results and drive performance within the HYCO South Region business. The equipment/technologies associated with the facilities include Steam Methane Reformers (SMR), Partial Oxidation Gasifier (POx), Auto Thermal Reformer (ATR), amine systems, dryers, cold box, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, and Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA). There are 5 plant manager direct reports and approximately 70 indirect reports. Responsibilities will Include: - Ensures compliance to all safety policies and procedures, leads operational discipline, and works closely with SH& E in achieving established goals. - Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and Linde policies regarding environmental, permitting, and product quality requirements. - Accountability for adhering to all Corporate and plant policies including OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and TECQ air, water, and waste regulations. - Leads safety, reliability, compliance, and quality programs for assigned area and drives for continuous improvement. - Manages and achieves plant and product supply reliability goals. - Act as primary interface, coordinating and facilitating activities and commitments with other departments, businesses, and/or functions. - Takes leadership role in creation and oversight of productivity optimization. - Develops, implements, and supports Lean Six Sigma and cost reduction projects. - Manages and achieves plant fixed and variable cost goals, develop and track monthly operational KPI's and create action plans to address deficiencies. - Responsible for developing 3year CAPEX plan including priorities, estimates, and implementation schedule. - Manage and escalate as required operational threats and/or production supply issues. - Monitors production/manpower levels to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and assisting with developing contingencies. - Manage employee performance by setting expectations, providing guidance, feedback, and development for career progression and performance improvement. - Driving improvement in the safety culture at all facilities. - Ensuring that all facilities complete compliance related items (PHA, RCA, etc.) in a timely manner. - Effectively working within the matrix organization to enlist assistance from support groups. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent. - 10+ years operations experience. - 3+ years plant management experience. - Must possess proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills. - Must be reliability and efficiency focused and possess strong planning and execution skills. - Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce to achieve desired results.
