Description:
Responsibilities: From within the South Region business, strategic account manager will manage sophisticated customer relationships and customer strategies up through customer C level across all Linde businesses. Job Scope: Addresses wide variety of customer and internal demands with control of objectives and priorities. Defines elements of sales strategy within area of responsibility, objectives are defined in collaboration with customer and Linde senior management and are often long-term in nature. Creates purpose and vision for own sales area that supports LG US South and larger Linde goals. Participates on cross-business/ cross-functional or special project teams. Works closely with business development and the large project business development to allow Linde, with its offerings, to be the solution provider in addressing customer needs. Interacts with Linde senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the business/company. Creates opportunities for Linde senior management to engage with customer senior management to ensure business alignment. Objective is to make Linde plc the industrial gas provider of choice for our customers. Additional Responsibilities: - Creates and manages sales account strategy that result in the accomplishment of business objectives. - Accountable for delivering the assigned area annual business plan results related to growth, revenue and margin and operating profit. - Has a direct role in defining business unit product and sales direction, providing functional guidance and expertise for tactical decisions. - Sets goals for profitable growth, including reviewing account plans/sales reports with region management and working with product management to maximize profitability. - Monitors the overall sales plans to ensure compliance with long- and short-term goals and tactics, pricing strategies and renegotiation plans. - Validates business opportunities, often across business units and with business development, including identifying business alternatives, in preparation of proposals and in contract negotiation. - Manages sales expenses and keeps budget in line with business dictate. - Builds and maintains business relationships at customer senior management levels using the Linde organization to strengthen and broaden those relationships. - Capable of negotiating long term, project based, sophisticated agreements. - Must be willing to represent the customer's interest internally to allow for Linde to present solutions. Qualifications: - Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical and commercial information related to industrial gas solutions across all levels of the organization. - Problem Solving and Active Listening: Excellent listening skills and the ability to quickly analyze and respond to challenges in dynamic situations, particularly in industrial gas supply systems. - Business Development Experience: Proven track record in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and managing commercial projects within related industries. - Industry Experience: 10+ years of commercial experience in similar industry, including direct involvement in customer negotiations and business growth initiatives. - Contracting Expertise: Hands-on experience with large on-site production and pipeline supply contracts, with a clear understanding of pricing, risk management, and operational requirements. - Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, mainly within driving distance, to support client negotiations and oversee project execution.
