Senior Trade Compliance Specialist

What you will enjoy doing*

  • In this role, you will be managing Import/Export Operations: Overseeing day-to-day import/export activities, including HTSUS classification of goods (ADD/CVD analysis), Schedule B and ECCN analysis for exports, documentation, and interactions with customs brokers and other stakeholders
  • You will also be staying up-to-date on regulations: Monitoring changes to US and international trade laws and regulations and communicating those changes to relevant teams
  • Duty optimization and preferential trade agreements are part of your role: Identifying opportunities to minimize duties and taxes using trade agreements and other legal mechanisms throughout Linde's global supply chain
  • Further, you will be resolving compliance issues: Investigating and resolving any identified compliance topics, including potential penalties or audits
  • You will be conducting audits and assessments: Regularly reviewing import and export processes to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to regulations
  • Managing relationships with regulatory agencies: Interacting with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other relevant agencies on trade compliance matters is part of your role
  • Additionally, you will handle day-to-day functions of the trade compliance department and other duties as assigned

What makes you great

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, international trade, supply chain management) or equivalent experience is required for this role
  • You have experience in performing complex HTSUS classification and ADD-CVD analysis for the Oil & Gas Engineering Industry preferred
  • You also have knowledge of using online resources of CBP for classification and ADD-CVD analysis, as it is required for this role
  • You have 3-5 years' experience in international trade either as importer/shipper or in a freight forwarder/customs brokerage environment
  • Understanding of the HTS and its application to product classification and ability to assess the risk of anti-dumping and countervailing duty liability is ESSENTIAL to this role
  • You also have a deep understanding of US import regulations, including classification, valuation, and entry procedures
  • Experience with EAR, which governs the export of dual-use items
  • Further, strong understanding of cross-border operations, global trade regulations (e.g., EAR, Customs, FTA, sanctions) is important for this role
  • Familiarity with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, which restrict trade with certain countries and individuals
  • You have experience with import/export operations and relevant regulations
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software and other company and discipline specific software applications
  • Additionally, you have proven communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company
