TITLE: Commodity Manager

EMPLOYER: Linde Engineering North America LLC

LOCATION: TheWoodlands, TX

DUTIES: Responsiblefor the sourcing, qualification, commercialization, and supplier development ofassigned Electrical Equipment Commodities supporting industrial plantapplications. Procure equipment, materials, engineering, and services forbusiness clients from approved suppliers in a timely manner by utilizing frameagreements or sources at the lowest evaluated cost and delivery. Solicit andanalyze quotations, select successful supplier, and complete purchases withinset levels of authority. Responsible for the identification, registration, andqualification of new sources for accountable Materials Groups to complete qualificationin Ariba SLP. Maintain and update existing supplier qualifications for LENAElectrical Equipment suppliers carried over but not yet integrated into AribaSLP. Follow procurement standards and quality systems and focus on compliance withprocurement work processes. Supporting Linde Engineering Americas (LEA) bybeing responsible for supplier relationships and global reporting for the Motorsuppliers in the assigned region.

What makes you great (REQTS)

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreignequivalent in Engineering (any), Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Managementor a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in arelated position.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience with: Understandingengineering drawings, terminology, and practices, including reading electricalschematics and single-line electrical diagrams;
  • Terminology and main parts/costdrivers of the equipment for clear understanding of scope of supply and basictechnical requirement;
  • Negotiating all commercial terms, including purchaseorder terms and main standard terms and conditions such as payment terms, warranty, insurance, execution requirements penalties/liquidated damages, andother contract law applications;
  • Main factors determining the cost of projectexecution, including all potential risks, hidden cost, internal cost, andprevious experience with vendor, and market data and trends to support suchforecasts;
  • Integrating mechanical equipment into gas plants and facilities, demonstrating a deep understanding of each machine's working parts;
  • Conductingmarket research for electrical products and knowing the main companies for eachgroup of materials, price levels, standard lead times, and specifics of theirwork;
  • Procuring electrical and instrumentation equipment for internationalprojects, including having knowledge of specific requirements of marketsoutside the US such as technical standards, international law, key suppliers ineach region, and tax requirements of the country in which the project islocated.
  • 10% of domestic and international travel required


  • SALARY: $115, 060.80//year

    HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (40 hours per week)
