Description:

Overview

As a Tower Crane Operator, the essential duties include overseeing portable barge equipment, ensuring safe operation of the tower crane, and performing routine maintenance. Responsibilities also involve cleaning, inspecting, and testing equipment, understanding safe rigging practices, and facilitating communication within the facility. Additionally, the role includes documenting data accurately, managing equipment tracking and inventory, and aiding personnel with additional operations as required. The operator may also assist with facility maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all portable barge equipment at Gate 5 including cargo hoses, vapor hoses, filter pots, skid pumps, detonation arrestors and nitrogen bottles.
  • Ensure tower crane is operating correctly/safely, perform routine maintenance and report any issues as they arise.
  • Clean, Inspect and Test cargo/vapor hoses and other barge equipment that is stored at the facility.
  • Understand safe rigging and crane operations.
  • Communicate between Coordinators, Dispatch and within the facility regarding equipment needs and crane operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct data is documented on all forms paper and digital.
  • Ensure equipment tracking, inventory management and maintenance for all equipment.
  • Aid Gate 5 personnel with additional operations as needed.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and troubleshooting.

Required Job Skills:
  • Organized, detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities communicate with others.
  • Knowledge and use of computer software: Outlook E-mail, Oracle, Oasis, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, with emphasis on Access


Qualifications

Education/ Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Advanced knowledge and use of computer software: Outlook E-mail, Oracle, Oasis, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Shipyard Experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

10 Hour Day Shifts, Monday-Friday with some on-call
