What We Are Looking ForThe Senior Accountant will accurately record, report and analyze revenue and operating expenditures of MidAtantic area terminals while adhering to strict deadlines
What You Will Do- Perform all end of month tasks according to close calendar
- Prepare month end journal entries for P& L and quarter end financial reports
- Monthly variance compilation for the Mid-Atlantic Area
- Review and verify annual budgets
- Maintain financial reports and records
- Interpret trends reflected in forecasts and P& L's
- Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations of specific amounts
- Perform Contract Asset / Liability (CALM) reconciliations
- Maintain Customer Minimum Guaranteed Volume Tracking (Shortfall) schedules
- Maintain monthly schedules related to leases, rents, volumes, etc.
- Review customer contracts and assure accuracy for rates and volume requirements
- Quarterly Variance analysis and Flux reporting for dollars and volumes
- All other duties as trained and directed
What You NeedEducation:
- B.S. in Accounting or related field or 5 - 7 years equivalent experience
Experience / specific knowledge:
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Must be able to maintain good attention to detail, accuracy, completeness, and meet deadlines and commitments
- Must have good computer skills. Working knowledge of Excel is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel is plus.
- Must be detail oriented, organized and self-motivated
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English
- Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team
- Must be able to complete work in a prioritized and organized manner
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules and follow work rules
- Must have strong analytical skills and logical thought processes with the ability to identify and resolve simple to complex accounting issues
- Must be able to work and complete work with minimal direct supervision
- Must be able to interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
Physical demands:
- Must be able to sit / stand for extended periods of time
- Must have manual dexterity to Operate a computer keyboard.
Working conditions:
- Must be able and willing to travel to other locations as required
- Must be able to work with a team or independently and prioritize work schedule
- Must be able to work extended and non-traditional hours as needed
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Must maintain regular, dependable attendance
- Successful candidate subject to pre-employment background check and drug screen
