Position Description
  • Provide leadership to, and management of a team of Project Cost Estimators (currently 5)
  • Drive the successful completion of assigned estimate requests for Interstate Natural Gas Project scopes
  • Maintain updated and accurate pricing for critical project components
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead professional personnel and manage performance
  • Coach and develop personnel and improve processes, standards and procedures
  • Create and provide training for group on all aspects of Interstate Natural Gas project scopes
  • Review all estimate deliverables prior to completion and delivery to internal customers for each request
  • Track and improve key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, including estimate turnaround time, completion timeliness and pricing accuracy.
  • Promote open and continuous communication between various customers, departments, and personnel
  • Coordinate with and support Project Management to validate and respond to each estimate request
  • Distribute estimate tracking logs and manage due dates based on workload and priority
  • Facilitate maintenance and updates for cost tools and databases
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Cost Control to maintain updated and accurate pricing for critical project components: material, contractor services, labor rates, tax rates, etc.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • BS in Construction Management/Science, Engineering, Economics, or other technical related discipline
  • Applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
  • At least 7 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Experience in management of direct or indirect professional personnel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, with strong skills in Excel

  • Demonstrate leadership to management and internal customers
  • Able to identify issues and implement solutions
  • Work with intra and inter-departmental leaders to create a cohesive support group
  • Review estimates for a variety of projects in the Interstate Natural Gas sector of the Oil & Gas industry
  • Oversee the development of all estimates assigned to team
  • Work toward solutions and applications to meet or exceed business goals
  • Coordinate efforts at all levels
  • Can self-direct to meet goals set by upper management and internal customers
  • Must actively lead the team, prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow any process/standard rules
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
