Position Description

Primary purpose:
This position is responsible for leading and directing the maintenance of the electrical, instrument and electronic equipment of the Yates Field Unit. This position supervises twelve company direct reports and provides work direction to four contract I& E technicians. The Electrical/I& E Supervisor maintains employee work schedules, optimizes completion of preventative and corrective work orders and trains employees in craft and procedural compliance. The position is highly demanding requiring detailed knowledge of complex operations, the ability to work in a team environment and the competency to make rapid business decisions to protect the public and the asset.


Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead, direct and supervise the maintenance employees and contractors working on the electrical, instrument and electronic equipment of the Yates Field Unit.
  • Direct maintenance schedule, and changes in schedules based on shifting priorities.
  • Troubleshoot process and systems upsets.
  • Prepare, review and ensure proper training of craft compliance and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain the facilities safely and in compliance with Safety/Environmental regulations and corporate policies.
  • Respond to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide support to project management and business development.
  • Facilitate organizational compliance in safety programs.
  • Review and process Management of Change (MOC) proposals.
  • Maintain an acceptable PM completion rate. Adjust PM program as needed based on equipment failure rates and industry standards.
  • Prioritize and manage the CM backlog.
  • Monitor contractor and material cost and quality.
  • Maintain close working relationship with Yates Operations organization and other Yates Maintenance groups.
  • Represent Yates Electrical/I& E priorities to a broader CO2 and KM audience.
  • Participate in ICS drills and training.
  • Special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience / specific knowledge:
  • 7 years minimum oil and gas industry without an Engineering Degree
  • 4 year minimum oil and gas industry with an Engineering Degree

Certifications, licenses, registrations:
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:
  • Proven track record in managing oil and gas maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of oil and gas electrical, instrument and electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of gas processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, construction and project management practices.
  • Knowledge of CO2 EOR operations.
  • Excellent communicator with the team, operations, and support groups.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft applications and well versed in making/generating presentations.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, focus attention on details
  • Required to carry a company provided cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours
  • Effective with performance management
  • Ability to work with technical experts to make economically sound repair decisions
  • Familiarity with KM CO2's management systems (IMPACT, OpsInfo, ISNetWorld, LMS, audits, etc.).
  • Ability to train and mentor other personnel.
Physical demands:
  • Extended hours during upset conditions
  • Work outside in all weather conditions as needed
  • Live within a 30 min response time to the field (Iraan, Sheffield, McCamey or Rankin)

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Exposure to SCADA and WonderWare
  • Programming and server experience
  • NFPA 70E and NEC knowledge
