Position Overview
As part of the Data & Records Integrity group, this role is responsible for auditing project closure packages across all Kinder Morgan business units. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of engineering and construction documentation associated with natural gas projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies within complex technical records.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct audits of project closure packages across all Kinder Morgan business units
  • Ensure all documentation meets Kinder Morgan standards and regulatory agency requirements
  • Perform comprehensive reviews to verify material and weld traceability, qualifications, accuracy, and compliance
  • Maintain and track closure package status using Project Tracker, proactively monitoring progress and resolving outstanding issues
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of engineering documentation, including drawings, bills of material, purchase orders, material certifications, NDE reader sheets, pressure test reports, and qualification records
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies, inconsistencies, and data gaps within project documentation
  • Conduct comparative analysis of drawings, sketches, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and data integrity


What You Need

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or technical coursework in auditing, technical writing, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with document auditing and familiarity with energy project scopes of work preferred
  • Knowledge of Kinder Morgan and regulatory agency requirements related to closure package documentation
  • Familiarity with construction as-built drawings, survey data, MTRs, bills of material, and related project documentation
  • Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other business systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal staff, management, external clients, and vendors
  • Ability to lift and move file boxes containing documentation over short distances as needed
