Job Description
Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Hotel is hiring a Loss Prevention Officer in Eagle Pass, TX. This is a full-time position.
The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for protecting hotel guests, team members, visitors, Company assets, information, and property by maintaining a visible security presence, conducting routine patrols, identifying and addressing safety hazards, responding to incidents, and enforcing established Hotel safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures. The position supports a safe, secure, and hospitable environment while exercising sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and respect in all interactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal, and other laws, regulations, and Hospitality policies and procedures. 2. Maintain an alert, professional, and visible security presence throughout assigned hotel areas, including entrances, public areas, back-of-house areas, parking areas, and other designated locations. 3. Conduct routine and directed interior and exterior patrols and inspect doors, locks, emergency exits, stairwells, corridors, parking areas, loading areas, restricted areas, and other designated locations for safety and security concerns. 4. Identify and promptly report hazards, security concerns, suspicious activity, property damage, policy violations, unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, disturbances, and other incidents affecting guests, team members, or property. 5. Monitor authorized surveillance, access-control, alarm, radio, and other security or safety systems as assigned and use related information only for legitimate business purposes. 6. Respond promptly and appropriately to guest and team member incidents, medical emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, wellness checks, safety concerns, and requests for assistance. 7. Contact Hotel Leadership, emergency services, law enforcement, or other appropriate authorities when required by the circumstances and established procedures. 8. Use appropriate de-escalation techniques when addressing conflicts or difficult situations and remain within the authority, training, and scope of the position. 9. Prepare timely, accurate, objective, and complete activity logs, patrol records, incident reports, witness statements, photographs, and other required documentation. 10. Immediately report guest or team member accidents, injuries, allegations, property damage, security incidents, or other reportable events through the established chain of command and to the appropriate Company department. 11. Preserve incident scenes and protect evidence, photographs, video requests, records, and other relevant materials in accordance with established procedures. 12. Maintain appropriate chain-of-custody documentation for evidence, recovered property, and other materials requiring controlled handling. 13. Support authorized investigations, liability claims, internal audits, risk assessments, and follow-up reviews by gathering factual information, safeguarding records, and cooperating with authorized departments and agencies. 14. Maintain effective communication and cooperation with Hotel Operations, Facilities, Housekeeping, Front Office, Human Resources, Legal and Claims, and other departments as necessary to support safety, guest service, and business continuity. 15. Participate in safety committee activities, emergency drills, inspections, risk assessments, and safety or security training as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of basic hotel security, safety, loss-prevention, emergency-response, and access-control procedures. Ability to recognize safety hazards, security concerns, suspicious activity, and situations requiring immediate attention. Ability to respond appropriately to incidents while remaining within established procedures and the authority of the position. Strong observation, situational-awareness, and attention-to-detail skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish or other language skills are a plus. Ability to prepare accurate, objective, and detailed reports and documentation. Ability to gather information, establish facts, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings appropriately. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
