Description:

As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Sector of Risk Technology - Limits Management, you provide expertise to enhance and become a driving force behind the development and adoption of cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.

As a Business & Technical Architect, you're responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient business and technical solutions. You will provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.

Job responsibilities
  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection and develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy.
  • Establishes and enforces architectural standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Engages with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Drives innovation by exploring and implementing emerging technologies that provide a competitive advantage and improve business processes.
  • Oversees seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure and analyze system performance to implement efficiency improvements.
  • Identifies potential risks in architectural decisions and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience
  • Experience in financial services and related technology systems.
  • Proven experience as a Business/Technical Architect or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how technology can drive value.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced expertise in one or more programming language(s) and practical cloud native experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Experience leading a product and the ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial risk capabilities and high performance systems.
  • Experience in agile product development and coaching/managing technologists .
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Full stack development experience with Java, Spring, ReactJS.
  • In depth experience of data modelling and technologies across relational, nosql and in-memory.
  • Familiarity with API and micro-services frameworks, container technologies, and workflow tools.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or architectural frameworks.
