As a Business Solutions Specialist in Business Banking, you'll provide phone-based consultation with a focus on credit loan origination, client experience, and risk management. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of Business Banking, offering innovative financial solutions and advice that improve our clients' lives and businesses.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide phone-based consultation to prospects and clients around the appropriate product (loan vs line) for loans less than or equal to $250K
  • Proactively follow-up on all credit referrals less than or equal to $250K from both consumer branch-based employees and Business Relationship Managers
  • Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, and credit and risk management to identify and recommend small business credit products (i.e. lines of credit for working capital, letters of credit for trade finance, term loans for equipment financing, and treasury credit facilities) that best serve the client; and work within risk parameters that protect the bank
  • Work directly with clients to complete the application and fulfillment process, ensuring all necessary documents are included and complete
  • Submit all completed loan applications to Credit Service Center
  • Clearly communicate credit decisions and terms, including declinations and counter-offers to clients and prospects, with the goal of assisting the borrower with their access to capital-need and keeping internal partners informed of loan statuses and decisions
  • Protect the firm by following sound risk management protocols, and adhering to regulatory requirements and credit policies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in credit origination or related business lending products
  • Ability to understand business financial statements, cash flow capacity, and loans across various industries and business types
  • Proven ability to maintain strong phone-based communication, and negotiation skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with clients, internal partners, and peers
  • Ability to recognize issues or problems that need escalation
  • Maintain strong technical skills while using Microsoft Office and internal bank systems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
