JB Poindexter or "JBPCO" is looking for a
Supply Chain Specialist to support execution of category strategy and cost optimization initiatives by working closely with Category Directors, Category Managers, and other cross-functional teams. Plan and implement activities for timely, cost-effective procurement, planning and on-time delivery of assigned category products. Prioritize and maintain balance between cost of acquisition and cost of possession to maximize return on investment including methodologies to maximize working capital. This position will report to the Director of Indirect Materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Run benchmark studies, gathers, and analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the category team and for specific strategic sourcing initiatives, performs root cause analysis related to supply challenges or disruptions.
- Maintain vendor catalogs to the B2B e-procurement platform and interact with assigned suppliers to obtain correct pricing and work with Category Managers to load catalogue files.
- Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, relationship management, and continuous improvement.
- Track and report on supplier strategies, monitor spend, business allocation, capability gap analysis and facilitate cross-functional review and evaluation.
- Prepare and execute E- auctions for both direct and indirect commodities.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to drive efficiencies in providing regional procurement services.
- Help improve processes and leverage technology to reduce costs, identify and implement best practices, and measure performance.
- Contribute to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction efforts and initiatives to achieve the benefits.
- Develop data analysis and modeling to help identify process gaps and improve process efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university (Supply Chain Preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Certifications - Green Belt Preferred.
- General business knowledge of sourcing, procurement, contracting, business law and supplier management processes
- Strong customer support focus and team contribution.
- Strong written and oral communication; ability to negotiate and persuade others.
- Capable of participating and leading cross -functional teams.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capabilities with a solid understanding of Excel and its various utilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Prior ERP/MRP experience (JD Edwards preferred).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiating skills.
- C.P.M., CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM certification is preferred.
