INVISTA is seeking a motivated and self-driven Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer to join our Machinery Asset Team in Victoria, TX.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the plant's competitive position by reducing environmental, health, and safety (EH& S) risks, while maximizing the availability and utilization of rotating equipment. This will be achieved through the implementation of the latest engineering technologies, the application of condition-based strategies, and providing technical guidance to both production and maintenance teams. This role will collaborate with various support functions, including IT/OT, Operations Excellence, and Projects, to achieve our strategic vision.

Our Team

The Machinery Reliability team is responsible for developing and leading projects and Mechanical Integrity initiatives aimed at eliminating unplanned events and ensuring stable and reliable equipment performance. This is accomplished through the application of advanced technologies, tools, and work practices, as well as fostering capability development in personnel.

What You Will Do
  • Eliminate unplanned events in rotating equipment (pumps, blowers, centrifuges, compressors, turbines, fans, rotary dryers, agitators) using Reliability Principles (RCA, FMEA, MTBF, etc.). Scopes of repair and selection of plant equipment by communicating, investigating, analyzing, researching, specifying, and designing.
  • Design and implement fundamental mechanical engineering projects related to rotating equipment to address business priorities.
  • Assess, build, and deploy sensors, predictive models, and operating limit strategies to transition from time-based strategies to condition based monitoring.
  • Provide technical recommendations through the collection, analysis, and summary of data and trends. Partner with Operations and Maintenance to develop new tools that grow new capabilities in the organization.
  • Identify and rapidly deploy new asset management technologies to accomplish our Vision. Collaborate, solve technical problems, support troubleshooting and steer economic decisions while working with a diverse workforce.
  • Lead reliability and risk reduction projects, programs, and initiatives. Develop tools that convert data to information allowing transparency for better decision making.
  • Support and leverage initiatives at other INVISTA sites through a Community of Practice.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or an Engineering degree with rotating equipment reliability improvement experience
  • Knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering as it relates to rotating equipment calculations, specification, projects, root cause analysis, and MTBF improvement
  • Experience leading and troubleshooting projects
  • Background in a petrochemical, refinery, or other industrial manufacturing plant
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Condition based monitoring strategy development involving deployment and visualization of sensors, machinery risk, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, AI
  • Knowledge of Failure Modes analysis and implementation of improvement strategies
  • Knowledge of condition-based monitoring methods, vibration diagnostics, and corrective action methods (balancing, resonance, alignment, couplings, etc.) to improve performance
  • Knowledge of Lubrication principles, programs, and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment compliance, recommended practices, and engineering standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, OSHA, and other RAGAGEP's)
  • Experience with engineering software, statistical data analytics, reliability modeling to help set organizational prioritization of improvement opportunities
  • Possession of related industry related certifications (CMRP, Vibration Level II +, Reliability Principles, etc.)
  • Programing in Pi Vision, Pi Explorer, or related platforms
