INVISTA is hiring a Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer at its Victoria, Texas facility. This role is an exciting growth opportunity for a high-energy individual looking to make a difference and lead improvements. The PSM Engineer is expected to help promote a culture of organizational and individual ownership and innovation in all areas of PSM.
What You Will Do - Lead the Victoria Site Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) program, both Covered Process and Non-Covered Process. Facilitator of the site PHAs
- Collaborate with other INVISTA sites driving continuous improvement in the method PHAs are facilitated, issued, and managed per INVISTA best practices meeting process safety goals
- Responsible for securing required resources to execute the PHAs by collaborating with area leadership
- Schedule and manage all process covered PHAs so that both INVISTA and OSHA timing requirements are met
- Lead the Risk Management Plan (RMP) program
- Oversee the development of new tools and software to transform PSM into sustainable and competitive systems
- Participate in PSM audits to contribute to compliance goals
- Assist in developing and in delivering PSM training
- Aid in connecting workforce to Process Safety culture expectations
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Experience in the Process Safety Management field either facilitating or participating as an active team member on Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Prior experience in engineering in a chemical manufacturing facility or Refinery.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Engineering discipline
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead - Experience and formal training in Hazard analysis systems such as Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), PHA, or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) Risk Assessment or other similar systems
- Experience with and knowledge of relevant process safety regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.119 (Process Safety Management) and 40 CFR 68 (Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions)
- Experience with Risk Management Plan program
- Proficient in incident investigations and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP)
- Leadership experience within a chemical plant in operations, technical, or mechanical integrity role
- Certified PHA Facilitator
- Proficient in the use of PHA software such as LEADERĀ® software with the ability to self-scribe during PHA studies
- Licenses and/or certifications: Professional Engineering (PE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), etc.
