Job Summary
The Senior Total Rewards Specialist position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Inogen’s total rewards programs. This position supports the design, implementation, and management of the group benefits programs and collaborates with other key stakeholders to support the compensation, equity, and reward and recognition programs. This position works closely with others in HR to develop and execute total rewards strategies that align with the Company’s objectives and support engagement and retention.
Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)
- Manage and support total rewards programs, including benefits, compensation, equity and reward and recognition.
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop and communicate total rewards policies and procedures.
- Work closely with vendors and partners to research and analyze total rewards programs, assess program effectiveness, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payroll and Finance, to ensure alignment on total rewards policies and regulations.
- Serve as main point of contact for daily inquires related to benefits, retirement, leave of absence, and other general total rewards questions for associates and managers.
- Administers group insurance programs including medical, dental, vision, health saving accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), life insurance, disability coverage, and voluntary benefit plans.
- Design and maintain benefit plan materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
- Oversee the review and submission of monthly benefit invoices and ensure accuracy and alignment with expected plan expenses.
- Oversee retirement plan administration, including responses to daily requests, quarterly and annual compliance review, and annual audit and plan requirements.
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators and provide information and census data as needed.
- Lead company wellness initiatives, including the design, communication, and rollout of well-being content and programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including timely filing of annual reports, postings, summaries, and audits.
- Lead and perform plan audits, including collecting, preparing, and organizing data to fulfill audit requests and gathering input from other stakeholders as needed.
- Work closely with stakeholders to support the administration of the company’s compensation programs and initiatives.
- Provide review and analysis of job descriptions and support market pricing and job grading practices.
- Assist with performing annual benchmarking efforts for all active roles to evaluate internal and external pay equity.
- Review and perform monthly review of new hire equity grants and prepare tracking file as needed.
- Manage ongoing tracking of bi-weekly payroll logs and ensure accuracy and timely communication.
- Maintain documentation and support of bonus and incentive programs including review of eligibility and validation of approved amounts.
- Evaluate and map internal processes and workflows and recommend changes and improvements as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Assist with any other duties as assigned.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
Qualifications (Experience and Education)
- Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- 5+ years of Human Resources experience as a Total Rewards Specialist/Analyst or Human Resources professional.
- Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, required.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and/or Compensation/Benefits Certification, preferred.
- A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
