Job Summary
As an IT Asset Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the organization's IT assets. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal of hardware and software assets to ensure optimal utilization and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will manage device and endpoint configurations, security policies, and support various Microsoft services (Intune, Azure, and Office 365) to ensure smooth operations across the organization.
Responsibilities
Asset Deployment, Tracking, and Inventory Management
- Coordinate the procurement process for IT hardware and software assets, including researching vendors, obtaining quotes, and placing orders.
- Ensure timely delivery and deployment of assets to end-users, following established procedures and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets using asset management tools, including asset tags, serial numbers, and configuration details.
- Conduct regular audits to reconcile physical assets with inventory records and identify discrepancies.
License Compliance and Software Management
- Monitor software license agreements and usage to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in software license optimization efforts, including license consolidation and reclaiming unused licenses.
Asset Lifecycle Management
- Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Coordinate asset retirement and disposal processes in compliance with environmental regulations and data security standards.
User Support and Training
- Provide user support and training on asset management processes and tools, to ensure compliance and maximize productivity.
- Address user inquiries and troubleshoot asset-related issues in a timely manner.
Asset Reporting and Analysis
- Generate regular reports on asset inventory, usage, and compliance for IT management and stakeholders.
- Analyze asset data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement in asset management practices.
Security and Risk Management
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure that asset management practices align with cybersecurity policies and protect sensitive data.
- Mitigate risks associated with asset management, such as theft, loss, or unauthorized access.
Endpoint Management and Device Configuration (with Intune)
- Configure and enroll devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) using Intune, ensuring they comply with company security policies.
- Set up and deploy Autopilot profiles for new devices to streamline the device provisioning process.
- Deploy and manage apps across devices using Intune, ensuring proper installation and troubleshooting any deployment issues.
- Manage and deploy security patches to endpoints, ensuring timely updates and compliance with company policies.
- Set and enforce security policies (e.g., password complexity, device encryption) across user devices using Intune.
- Troubleshoot issues related to device management, compliance policies, or app deployment failures.
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Management
- Provision and configure users, groups, and roles within Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
- Ensure that devices and applications are integrated and synchronized with Azure AD, handling user authentication and authorization.
- Configure basic Azure services, including conditional access policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Troubleshoot issues related to Azure AD user access, device compliance, and integrations with other Microsoft services.
Office 365 Support
- Provide support for Office 365 apps like Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, handling common issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems related to user accounts, email (Exchange), licensing, and collaboration tools.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions across Office 365 services, using the Admin Portal or PowerShell when needed.
Daily Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support for desktop/laptop devices, including imaging, troubleshooting hardware, OS (Windows 10/11), and application issues.
- Manage and configure devices using Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory and Azure AD.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Office 365 apps and services (e.g., Outlook, Teams).
- Document issues, solutions, and system configurations within the IT service management tool (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Troubleshoot common network-related issues and ensure devices can access required services.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth user experiences, patch deployments, and system updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in IT asset management, endpoint management, or related roles.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Windows OS (Windows 10/11), Office 365, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Intune for device management, policy enforcement, endpoint imaging, Autopilot, security patch deployment, and app deployment.
- Proficiency in configuring users and resources in Active Directory (user creation, group policies, permissions).
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure (user provisioning, basic configurations, troubleshooting).
- Experience with endpoint maintenance, software installation, diagnostics, and repair.
- Familiarity with hardware imaging, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair (laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, etc.).
- Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Experience with network peripheral configuration, management, firmware upgrades, and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, TCP/IP).
- Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation.
