DarkVision is hiring!

Description:

Your Job

DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is in search of a dedicated In-line Inspection (ILI) Field Specialist to service pipelines across the United States and Canada. This role involves travelling extensively to maintain, test, and deploy ILI tools. If you have hands-on experience working with ILI systems, excellent communication skills, and the desire to work with rapidly evolving technologies, we want to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-class team revolutionizing industrial imaging. The role will be based in Houston, Texas.

Our Team

Our machine vision, imaging, computer graphics, and data analytics experts have introduced a highly differentiated ultrasound-based ILI system. The team at DarkVision empowers operators to make well-informed decisions by providing them with a clear view of their piping infrastructure. Join us on this exciting journey as we strive to become the leader in industrial imaging.

What You Will Do
  • Field Operations: Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot ILI tools at pipeline sites across the US and Canada. Oversee the deployment and recovery of the ILI vehicles.
  • Oversee Equipment: Ensure that tools, parts, trucks, and critical equipment are checked, cleaned, calibrated, and verified for each job is essential. That includes care of the tools, outfitting of testing and support facilities, and tool planning and logistics between jobs.
  • Troubleshooting: Deploying new technology necessitates troubleshooting problems that arise in real-time. You'll be supported by strong and responsive engineering and operations teams, but the ability to figure things out quickly, improvise, and succeed under pressure will be critical to overall job success. The capacity to anticipate and solve field problems is paramount.
  • Collaboration on Product Testing: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams. Help develop and follow processes to support testing of new ILI products. Your feedback from testing and field operations will contribute directly to product development.
  • SOP Development and Documentation: Contribute to the development, creation, and organization of operating procedures, checklists, reports, and other program documentation.
  • Communication: Quickly and effectively communicate with customers, subcontractors, and DarkVision staff. Represent DarkVision with pride and uphold our reputation of excellent service quality.
  • Everything & Anything: As the first point of contact for ILI operations in Houston, there will be a wide assortment of standard and not-so-standard tasks that you'll be expected to complete, both inside and outside the typical field deployment umbrella. The role has an entrepreneurial side so that no task will be either above or beneath you.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Hands-on experience maintaining and deploying ILI technologies.
  • There is a significant amount of time away from home travelling and performing work in the field (around 50%). The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the US and Canada and be willing to perform a high volume of fieldwork sustainably.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • ASNT ILI-PQ Tool Operator Level II certification or greater.
  • A post-secondary technical or engineering education would be helpful in better understanding the technology and how it works.
  • Experience with complex technical systems and inspection technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to introduce new technologies or processes.
  • The ability to communicate problems, concerns, and discrepancies to stakeholders in a direct but diplomatic way is a natural part of the role.
  • We work on new, innovative, and complex technologies. We also leverage all kinds new tools and technologies across our business (we are, after all, a technology company that happens to be in the oil field service business). The desire to learn, play with, and embrace new technologies and software systems is part of being a DarkVision employee.

What's In It For You?
  • Competitive salary, health benefits, and retirement benefits.
  • Opportunity to work with and contribute to the development of cutting edge, industry-disruptive technologies.
  • Significant opportunities for increased responsibility, and pay and career advancement as the company continues growing rapidly, and expanding its staffing, product lines, technologies, and operations.
  • Flexible work environment with extensive travel opportunities.
  • Supportive team environment with a focus on safety and innovation.
  • Our operations have recently expanded into a 24, 000 sq ft facility in Houston, TX. The outfitting of this facility to support ILI operations in the US will be within the responsibilities of this role.
  • If you're looking to work hard, advance your career, and get paid well while learning about ILI operations, you've come to the right place.
