  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • NDI Experience
Must be able to work rotating shifts. This Opening will be on a 7: 00 p.m. to 7: 00 a.m. shift . Training may take place on days.

(Rotating shifts work 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)
JOB SUMMARY
Works independently under general supervision to process and/or interpret castings through the NDI departments using gauges, devices, or software to evaluate indications complying with established written procedures.

NDI operator may not move for two (2) years unless movement is a promotion within the department.

Pay increases within this job classification are determined by earning various certifications in the following skill areas: Level 1 skills in FPI and/or X-ray, Level 2 skills in FPI or X-ray. Pay increases from Base to Max pay as operator's earn certifications; operator must be certified in a Level 2 skill to receive Max pay

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Using Computers (entering information, etc.)
  • Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI).
  • Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain expected quality levels.
  • Work requires basic skills in reading, writing and math plus the use of fractions and/or decimals. The ability to perform interpretive defect analysis, follow simple instructions and visual aids.
  • Must be able to perform constant mental concentration and close visual examination of various casting configurations.
  • Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES FOR FPI LEVEL I
In the method in which certified, Level I's must:
  • Be able to follow work instructions.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to process parts, document results and perform equipment standardization in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to carry out any necessary preparation of parts before or after inspection in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Receive guidance or supervision from a certified Level II or Level III in that method when necessary.
  • Shall not make accept/reject evaluations unless specified in writing and approved by the company responsible Level III.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Requires wearing of radiation badge, safety glasses, metal tarsal shoes, hearing protection and gloves.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED
1. Physical Demands:

• Work requires constant concentration and alertness when inspecting castings.
• Work requires physical effort including constant standing and lifting.

• Minimum OJT hours must be met for each method/technique that the individual is certifying for.
• Radiation Safety Training- If required

• NDI operators must pass certification examinations consisting of multiple tests per method and technique.

4. Work Environment: (Chemical and Physical Exposures)

• Inspection is performed in a dark, air-conditioned room.
