We are actively seeking a Medical Assistant for our new out-patient Family Medicine Clinic in Edinburg, Texas. This clinic partnership with Driscoll Children's Hospital will proudly care for an all-adult patient population, which includes employees (healthcare workers) and their adult dependents. This role involves both front and back-office duties (clinical and administrative tasks) and performing lab draws as needed. Prior phlebotomy experience is required! Ideal individual will support efficient clinic workflow, provide excellent customer service and be skilled in providing strong customer service to patients. BLS is required (we can provide if needed). The clinic will be open Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 7: 00am-5: 00pm and Tues/Thurs from 8: 00am-6: 00pm. Shifts will always fall within these hours; some days being responsible for opening the clinic and some closing. Compensation starts at $20-22/hr. What You'll Do: Perform phlebotomy and other lab tests Coordinate with patients regarding follow-up test results, medication refills, and referrals. Assist Registered Nurse/Team Lead as needed to maintain a functional clinic. Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, and schedule referrals. Checks medical records for test results and assigns and faxes as appropriate. Scan documents as necessary. Keeps equipment and instruments clean and sterilized. Report to RN and MD when needed.
